What is the ORIGAMI CUP Competition?
The ORIGAMI CUP is an exciting competition that brings together both professional baristas and home brewers, regardless of experience level, to compete in brewing the best pourover coffee using the ORIGAMI dripper.
The event is designed to be welcoming, encouraging coffee people to gather, share their passion, and build connections within the coffee community.
The first official ORIGAMI CUP in the United States will be held in Houston on 22nd April 2025 in conjunction with the Specialty Coffee Expo.
Born in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture, Japan, the ORIGAMI Dripper has rapidly gained a global following. Thanks to the love and support of specialty coffee lovers around the world, the ORIGAMI CUP continues to grow and spread to new regions.
In this competition, you will be brewing a compulsory coffee supplied by our competition partner. Using the ORIGAMI Small dripper and ORIGAMI Mix Box filter, you will find the best recipe to represent this coffee for a panel of 3 judges to score.
The competition will be held in 3 rounds, including one elimination round, semi-final, and final round. All rounds will be held on the same day.

2nd Place: a WPM ZP-1 Grinder
3rd Place: $350 Slow Pour Supply Store Credit
All registration fee are not refundable.
Rules and Regulations will be sent to competitor after registration has been completed.
Competitors will receive at the day of competition:
- 300 grams of compulsory coffee
- 20ml Apax Labs Water Mineral Concentrate
- 2 x ORIGAMI Rework Dripper - small size. The Rework Dripper utilize 20% materials recycled from defect or broken drippers within the production process
- 1 box of ORIGAMI Mix Wave and Cone Filters - 100 sheets
- Caravela Brewers Kit
